Newborn Session / Keaton Dunn / Sunshine Coast BC Photographer

When I began this endeavor, I went into it full force. I started blogging, booking "model calls", watching a ton of videos on editing. I read and practiced as much as I could to learn more and more about my passion. One of the steps I took at the early stage of this new career, was attending a one-on-one workshop with Angie McCabe of Myrtle and Moss Photography. This single step was the smartest move yet and the biggest source of inspiration and support. I learned SO much from this woman and I can't wait to finally get around to editing the photos we took on our two day workshop together! (It's been a busy six months, I tell ya!)

One of the biggest pieces of advice Ang gave me was to keep shooting. To keep booking model calls. She encouraged me to go home and book some newborn shoots and maternity shoots to keep what I had learned fresh in my mind. Her words "Stay Inspired" still sit with me everyday and encourage me to always push myself a little bit further and to get creative with my shoots!

And that's exactly what I did. I came home from Victoria, feeling inspired, refreshed, excited and ready to book some sessions! I posted a model call for a newborn shoot and immediately a lovely friend that I have known for years replied. We chatted about what both of our expectations were for the shoot and booked a date. Her handsome son Keaton was born June 8, 2016 and is one of the sleepiest newborns I have photographed to date! I had such a great time catching up with Kelsey and spending the afternoon with her and her beautiful bundle of joy!
