Nestled in the heart of Egmont, BC, Raina and Darnell celebrated their love story against the breathtaking backdrop of Westcoast Wilderness Lodge. Their intimate wedding unfolded with a picturesque ceremony overlooking the tranquil inlet, witnessed by close family and friends. Throughout the day I captured their journey, from the stunning views of the ceremony to the radiant glow in the forest and the serene beauty of the inlet waters at the Back Eddy Resort.

Read MoreI had the pleasure of meeting Sarah + Aaron in May when I photographed their Pitt Lake elopement (which I am realizing I need to blog as well) From the moment I met them we hit it off and had the best time traveling up to the tippy top of a local mountain in a helicopter. After their elopement, Sarah contacted me for a post wedding session at the Loft Garden Oasis in Vancouver. Again, we had such a blast and created some of my favourite images from 2019. We will be creating more magic in 2020 and I can not wait. Here is what Sarah had to say about her gallery from this session:
“I was speechless as I looked through the photos. Did I ever tell you that you’re officially my photographer for life? Because you are. I think you’ve found your true calling with this career. Every photo and emotion is captured so genuinely. And your editing style is amazing!! Thank you Laura!!!!”
Read MoreFranky: I remember noticing Noah across the pool deck at an out of town swim meet when I was in the seventh grade. There was something about him that drew me in. It wasn't a looks thing (he had a mowhawk at the time- not a fan of those), but just something inside me told me that I should get to know him. I was too shy at the time to approach him, so I thought I would never see him again. I didn't know his name or if he was even from my town. The next swim season, my eighth grade year, we had a few new people join and he happened to be one of them, but without the mowhawk.Noah: I remember walking out of practice one day and noticing two girls laughing on the bench. There was something about one of them. She had a laugh that made me want to get her know her more, and happily a few months later I did.Our houses are connected by a Greenbelt and we both couldn't drive at this time, so we would ride our bikes to meet each other halfway at the pond/park. On August 24th, 2014 at sunset, Noah asked me to be his girlfriend and we've been together since. Now we plan on getting married five years later from that same date at the same place. We believe everything about our love story is unique. We are SO lucky to have found each other at such a young age. We know a lot of people are apprehensive about young couples "lasting," but we believe from the depths of our souls that we are meant to be together. “
This was the email I received from “Froah” in February of this year. I was ecstatic to meet them and capture the love they share. They traveled all the way from Kentucky to the Sunshine Coast, BC, Canada for their couples session. I couldn’t even handle their cuteness. Young love makes me so emotional.
Read MoreI had a vision for boudoir going into this. I knew that if I wanted to start offering boudoir sessions in Vancouver, Victoria and on the Sunshine Coast, I needed to capture women as they are. I knew that I wanted to incorporate pieces of their personality into their boudoir sessions, which is why I call them “lifestyle boudoir sessions”. I am personally not one for overtly sexual images where my clients are gazing into the camera. And if that’s your thing, you do you! I want to tell a story with my images and make you feel something. In order to ease nervousness, I recommend that my clients book an in home session or book a space that speaks to them. When people are more comfortable in their space, they will have the ability to be vulnerable in front of the camera. I am so excited to share some of my favourite images from this session with Hailey. This is one part of three different scenes we captured that day. If you connect with my work, please drop me a line, and let’s start discussing your customized boudoir experience. I still have spots available for November 24 in Victoria at the Rook & Rose loft.

Read MoreIn May I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Zaida and Zach for the first time for their “in home” engagement session at the gorgeous Loft Garden Oasis in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Zaida and I had chatted on the phone after she inquired about their May wedding. She was in Australia at the time and I remember talking with her about her vision for her wedding at the Pipeshop Venue in North Vancouver. We hit it off right away and she asked me if I would like to be the one to photograph her and Zach’s gorgeous May wedding!
