In Home & Forest Couples Session / Shannon + Shiro / Vancouver BC Photographer

Last month I traveled from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver to photograph this lovely couple. I met Shannon years ago, at a mutual friends house while we were getting ready to go out for Halloween. All these years have passed, and I never would have thought back then that I would ever be photographing her with her husband to be.

Shannon & Shiro were so much fun to hang out with for the afternoon, and they didn't mind hanging out with me much because I had my daughter Olivia with me. She was hanging out on my back in my Ergo carrier making them laugh, haha! (That's one way to get your clients to laugh -- bring your silly baby along for the ride!) This is not something that I practice often, but as she's still nursing and I was heading into the city for the day, I had to make some minor adjustments in my plan. And they LOVED her.

I met them at their apartment where I photographed them snuggling up and giggling together in the comfort of their home. There's always that 15 minute buffer in the beginning of a shoot where we chat and get into the groove of things but as you can see they got comfortable with me pretty quick. After we finished the in home part of the session, we headed to Queen Elizabeth Park and captured some shots of them hanging out in the forested area. I thought it was fitting that I was photographing them in an area that looked so similar to what you would find anywhere on the Sunshine Coast. I LOVE couples sessions in the forest, up the mountain or on the beach. So, photographing them in this location was a nice little treat!

Congratulations again, to Shannon & Shiro on your engagement and your wedding in the coming year. There is an undeniable bond that you share and I feel so blessed to have captured that for you!

Until Next Time,

L xo
